Day Brightener

Sometimes in the midst of trying to fix a problem you create a whole other one And then you have to decide.. which one is worse? This is where I stand now and let's just say, it's not a place you want to go for vacation.. but I suppose I will just have to figure that out and move on. In the meantime it's almost Christmas which means... dun dun dun!.. Christmas shopping!:) This is actually something that I enjoy very very much. So I will let that be my "day brightener" till I get this other problem solved.

I See the Pain

I see it in your eyes
And I feel it in your touch
I want to know just what it is that makes you hurt so much

Every time I see you
I also see the pain
And in your eyes each day is neither loss nor gain

I want to make things better
I want to make things right
I want to know at the end of the tunnel you finally see some light

You've given up on trying
You say that you don't care
And you simply do not realize that you've caused my heart to tear

Remembering how it was
And now seeing where you are
I cannot help but wonder how it is things got this far

It's killing me to see you
Walking down this lonley road
But at this point you really don't seem to care which way you go

I want to see your smile
I want to hear your laugh
But more than anything I wish I could pull you off this dreary path

But I'm finally starting to realize
There's nothing I can do
That happiness is something you yourself will have to choose

So in the meantime I'll be here
An always listening ear
Forcing a smile upon my face as I wipe away a tear

That's Life!

So I realize that it has been a ridiculously long time since I last posted and for this I am extremely sorry... :( But since things are finally starting to get back to a routine maybe I can get back on track :) Things have been freakin crazy this year.. ups and downs, highs and lows, ins and outs. You name it, it's happened. But ya know what.. that's okay:) That's life! You live and you learn and you keep on moving. If you always spend your time looking behind you then you can't see all the beauty that is around you and the opportunities that are in front of you. So look forward, keep your chin up, and thank God every single day for the blessings he has bestowed on you. Life is beautiful, you just have to take the time to look around you and SEE the beauty!

...... And you know what else? Sometimes you have to learn to recognize the beauty!

Long Hot Summer By Keith Urban

I heard this song the other day and it just made me happy:) Here are the lyrics:)

I can’t sleep
Ain’t no sleep a’coming
I’m just lying here thinking ‘bout you
I’m in deep
Falling deep into the picture in my mind of everything we’re gonna do

Over at the lake and down by the river
You can feel it start to rise
Wanna jump in my car, go wherever you are
‘Cause I need you by my side

It’s gonna be a long, hot summer, we should be together
With your feet up on the dashboard now
Singing along with the radio, it’s such a beautiful sound
And when you say my name in the middle of the day, I swear I see the stars come out
When you hold my hand in the back of my mind, just waiting on the sun to go down, the sun to go down

I wanna see your brown skin shimmer in the sun for the first time
I try to be the one who knows just what to do to you to get me that smile
One chance of meeting, you were walking by me on the street and I said hi
And that was the beginning of my heart spinnin’ like these wheels in my head tonight

The only place that I wanna be is where you are
‘Cause anymore than a heartbeat away is just too far

It’s gonna be a long, hot summer, we should be together
All I really want is more than this moment right now
And when you say my name in the middle of the day, I swear I see the stars come out
And when you hold my hand and I look into your eyes
I swear it looks like you’re waiting for the sun to go down, the sun to go down

I swear it’s like you’re waiting for the sun to go down
Waiting on the sun to go down
Hey, yeah
Oh, I’m loving thinking ‘bout you
I cant sleep, I’m just lying here thinkin’ ‘bout you

To Botterfly Girl!!

If you ever find yourself stuck in the middle of the sea
I'll sail the world to find you
If you ever find yourself lost in the dark and you can't see
I'll be the light to guide you

Find out what we're made of
What we are called to help our friends in need

You can count on me like one, two, three
I'll be there and I know when I need it
I can count on you like four, three, two
And you'll be there 'cause that's what friends
Are supposed to do, oh yeah, ooh, ooh

If you toss and you turn and you just can't fall asleep
I'll sing a song beside you
And if you ever forget how much you really mean to me
Everyday I will remind you

Find out what we're made of
What we are called to help our friends in need

You can count on me like one, two, three
I'll be there and I know when I need it
I can count on you like four, three, two
And you'll be there 'cause that's what friends
http://www.elyricsworld.com/count_on_me_lyrics_bruno_mars.html
Are supposed to do, oh yeah, ooh, ooh, yeah, yeah

You'll always have my shoulder when you cry
I'll never let go, never say goodbye

You can count on me like one, two, three
I'll be there and I know when I need it
I can count on you like four, three, two
And you'll be there 'cause that's what friends
Are supposed to do, oh yeah, ooh, ooh

You can count on me 'cause I can count on you

I'm Letting Go by Francesca Battestelli

My heart beats, standing on the edge
But my feet have finally left the ledge
Like an acrobat
There’s no turning back
(Chorus)
I’m letting go
Of the life I planned for me
And my dreams
I’m losing control
Of my destiny
It feels like I’m falling and that’s what it’s like to believe
So I’m letting go
This is a giant leap of faith
Trusting and trying to embrace
The fear of the unknown
Beyond my comfort zone
(Chorus)
Giving in to your gravity
Knowing You are holding me
I’m not afraid
(Chorus)
Feels like I’m falling and that’s what it’s like to believe
Feels like I’m falling and this is the life for me

College and Bamboo

Well, I have officially completed my first college class:) Hallelujah! In all honesty it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was afraid that my professor would be really mean and that they would make everything really hard. But my professor was quite the opposite; he was nice and he wanted all of us to succeed. He helped us when we had questions and kept everything very relaxed. All in all it was a good experience:) My mom decided that she was going to get me something as a "congratulations-on-completing-your-first-college-class" gift. And guess what I got.. a plant. This sounds like a rather odd gift, but I have had my eye on this plant for quite some time. It is a bamboo plant that has had the reeds twisted into all sorts of cool shapes and is in a cute little pot. It is currently sitting on my bedside table where it can get a little bit of sun but not too much. (apparently bamboo isn't supposed to have a lot of sun.) So there you have it.

Ps. The college class is why I haven't been posting much for the past month.

Country Music

I have come to the realization that you simply cannot beat country music. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that anything that isn't country music isn't good. I listen to lots of different genres of music, but I always end up coming back to country. And I believe this is why: Country music tells a story and no matter where you are at in life you can always find a song that seems to be written just for you. There are songs for laughing, songs for crying, there are songs for joy and songs for heartache; I could make a list of songs that would compose the story of my life up to this moment right now. I know that there are people out there who would argue with me all day on this subject, but no matter what I will always love my country music:)

(To prove my point, there is a song about this exact subject; It's called 'Songs About Me' by Trace Atkins.)

The Taste of Water

Ok, so I was walking today and I started to think... how do you describe the taste of water? Really, have you ever thought about it. It's not sweet, sour, bitter, or spicy; so what do you use to describe it? So I went inside and got a cup of water and continued to walk. Occasionally I would sip some of the water and try to determine the taste of it, but sadly I couldn't figure it out:( So how DOES water taste? Post a comment and let me know what you think:)

My Dream :)

So here is the dream that I had last night: I was out on a date and we were walking back to the truck (I have no idea where from) when all the sudden we hear this gunshot go off and this man takes off running. I'm not sure what happened after that but we ended up in the witness protection program and they shipped us off to someplace that they wouldn't tell us. We were in this really small house and there were these "guards" at all the doors and they wouln't let us out. So we started conspiring on how to get out of the house. The last thing I remember is sitting in the floor drawing out our escape route... then sadly I woke up.

Weekend if Finally Here!!

Happy weekend everyone!:)

Fireworks

Did you know that they have heart shaped fireworks?? Isn't that awesome! Last night my friend and I went to see fireworks and I was quite impressed by the show:) My favorite one was the kind that exploded and seemed to disapate like fairy dust. It made me think of cinderela for some reason:) It was a nice way to end the day..:)

The Drill and the Bobbin

I mentioned a couple of posts ago that I had been doing some sewing latley, but I forgot to tell y'all a story about our early experiences with this particular sewing machine. So when we first start out we're just sewing right along and things are going great, but then the bobbin runs out of thread. Hey, no problem right? Wrong. It's not a problem if you know how to thread it, but we didn't. Since I couldn't figure it out, and my mom couldn't figure it out we called in my dad. Now, my dad is the type of person who starts a project and will not stop until it is done and it is done right. So when he couldn't figure out he began looking for an innovative way to thread this bobbin. Guess what his tool of choice was. A drill. Yes, my ever so innovative father decided to use a drill to thread the bobbin. He put the bobbin on the drill bit and let the drill do its thing. it worked, so if you ever can't figure out how to thread your bobbin, just try this innovative technique:)

Grrrr.........

 I. Am. Not. Happy. at all.... I currently look like some un-hygenic wierdo... so here's the first thing that happened. I am on a medication for my skin, acne runs in my family so after going to a dermatologist this is what she put me on. But due to the fact that  my prescription has run out... well i'm currently breaking out... then I used a product on my skin that apparently reacted with the other medication i'm using; leaving my upper lip chemically burned, dry, and red.. then I went to get my hair cut today and the lady who normally does my hair was unable to do so, therefore i had soembody else cutting it. Well.... this did NOT work out well. We must have had some sort of mis-communication because my hair is shorter than i told her i want it, has some wierd choppy looking layers and is angled akwardly against my face. This is NOT what i asked for AT ALL! Grr.... now i have to wait for my hair to grow out in order to have it fixed.
But on the plus side we got my prescription refilled and i will be able to start taking again, and there are always ponytails so my dreadful haircut can be hidden if i choose to do so.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Sheep

I was just informed that I was going to compete in a sheep riding competition... (not really, but that was the joke.) Here is the conversation:

Dad: "Oh yea, there's gonna be pig wrestling and sheep riding.."
Me: "Umm... I can't ride a sheep. I'm too big to ride sheep."
Dad: "Oh no. you haven't seen these sheep.. these are Arnold Schwarzenegger sheep!"
 Me: "..........................................."
Dad: "I'll be baaaaaaahhhhhhck." (this is spoken in his best Arnold Schwarzenegger impersonation voice.)
Me: "I'm putting this on my blog..."

 Welcome to my family.....

Loving You Tonight by: Andrew Allen

Lost, In the day, In a way
Its the same as the one before this
and i wish, I could say
that its all black and white
But its gray, Its the same, its the same
And i'm so tired but you are what im comin home to

Oh im thinkin' 'bout a red wine, buzz and takin' it easy
and i got you in my arms, Takin' a break from crazy

And I'll say hey,
You'll say baby, Hows your day
I'll say crazy,
But its all gonna be alright,
You'll kiss my smile,
I'll pull you closer,
Spend awhile just gettin' to know ya,
But its all gonna be alright,
Loving you tonight,
Ohh Ohh Yeaaah,
Loving you tonight,
Ohhh Ohh, Yeaahh

And you are there
In my heart, at the start
of my my every morning
and i can't deny, by the end of the day
that I'm runnin' on empty
But you make it full, Steal my breath
You're so unpredictable,
That's what I'm comin home to

Oh I'm dreamin' 'bout a romance , slow dancin' with you
When i got you in my arms, Then i don't care what we do

Cuz I'll say hey
You'll say baby, How's your day
I'll say crazy
But its all gonna be alright
You'll kiss my smile
I'll pull you closer
Spend awhile just gettin' to know ya
But its all gonna be alright,
Loving you tonight
Ohh, Ohh, yeaaah.
Loving you tonight
Ohhh, Ohh, Yeaaah

Cause' everyday is just the in between
the hours separating you from me
i know you'll be waiting,
I know you'll be waiting

And I'll say hey
You'll say baby, Hows your day
I'll say crazy
But its all gonna be alright
You'll kiss my smile
I'll pull you closer
Spend awhile just gettin' to know ya
But its all gonna be alright,
Loving you tonight,
Ohhh, Ohh, yeaaahh
Loving you tonight,
Ohhh, Ohhhh, yeaaah
Loving you tonight,
Ohh, ohhh, yeaaahh
Loving you tonight,
Loving you tonight.

The Grand Canyon, a sunset, and a squirrel

My friend (the same one who had the jacked up u-joints) recently got back from a trip to the Grand Canyon. I am extremely happy that this friend took their camera with them and got some ridiculously awesome pictures!! (Because now I get to share them with you!) I've only got two at this time, but will get more as time permits:)

The first one is of the sunset:
Is that not awesome?????!!!! :)

The next one is particular meaningful to me since it was taken with me in mind;) As I have mentioned before, I tend to be a tad bit random/sporadic (I don't know if that's spelled right..) at times. I come out with random peices of information that are neither relevant nor crucial to the current situation, but for some reason I feel the urgent desire to share with whomever I may be conversing with. These are called "squirrel moments". (for some reason I have the feeling that I've mentioned this before.) Due to the fact that I have A LOT of squirrel moments, this person was so kind as to take this picture in honor of yours truly;) (or so they said.)

HERE IT IS!

 This absaloutly made my day!!

U-Joints and Drive-Shafts

One of my friends has been having some trouble with a loud (and annoying) squeaking sound coming from their vehicle. After consulting with multible people it was decided that one of the u-joints was the problem.  So this afternoon I spent six hours helping them change the u-joints on their vehicle  ... I am now an expert on changing u-joints. (I say "helping", I was mostly supervising.. but I helped when I could:) ) Now, this could have been a thirty minute to an hour deal, but when things don't go exactly perfect they can take A LOT longer. Understatement. Once we got three-fourths of the way through it, we discovered that one of the parts required to finish was defective; so we loaded up in the mini-van (since their vehicle was currently un-usable) and headed to the local auto store to switch out the product. After we got back to the house we proceeded to finish the project; luckily this time things went smoothly and we were able to put the drive-shaft back into the vehicle. Thank Heaven the squeaking is now gone and so far things seem to be working like they should:) My friend is now happy and so am I:)

Disney Couples

Lady and the Tramp:) Here is another classic couple that I adore! I love Lady's sweet, gentle personality in contrast to Tramp's carefree rambunctious ways. The fact that they're such opposites is what makes them such an endearing couple:)

A little too much confidence...

Remember that skirt that I told y'all I made? Well, little miss me got confident so I decided to try making a dress. It actually turned out quite well, so again my confidence was boosted a little; so i decided I wanted to try to make a quilt. Now, you would think that a quilt (if you use a simple pattern) is just straight lines so it shouldn't be that hard.. technically it wasn't that hard, but it didn't turn out as well as I had hoped it would. Some of the lines are crooked (most), and it is gathered in a couple places (that wasn't supposed to happen). You see, I have a habit of sleeping in the living room floor; and i do this on a regular basis. I have my two pillows from my bed and a red down blanket that I get every night and I sleep in the living room floor until I get up to go to bed. That is what the quilt is for... so whether or not it looks perfect it still works as a blanket:)

Disney Couples

Here is another Disney couple that you can't help, but love:) Aladdin and Jasmine! As far as people characters go, theses two are my faves (but you still can't beet Simba and Nala). I love Aladdin because he seems to know how to get himself out of almost any situation; he puts on a tough guy act, but loses the whole fecade when he falls for Jasmine:)  I love Jasmine because she's spunky and even though everyone is pushing her in a different direction, she chooses what she knows is best for her:)

"A Whole New World!"

Analogies

I do not know if y'all have noticed this yet, but I have discovered that I really like analogies. It's how I think, how I learn, and how I sort things out. (Notice my previous post). Like when I'm sitting in Chemistry class, any time that my teacher gives us any sort of process or something like that, I have to come up with an analogy to help it make sense in my head. Yes..... it's an odd thing, but it's one of my quirky traits that makes me.. well, me:)

A Stronger Link

Sometimes when you have a chain there is a weak link. As time goes by if too much stress is put on that specific link then it may snap; and when that link snaps the whole chain falls to the ground. It lays there in a heap... something that appears to be broken and useless. But the person who sees the true potential of what that chain can be used for takes the time to untangle the mess and when he finds the broken link and realizes what caused it to snap, he takes the time and puts in the effort to create a link that is stronger than the other link could have ever been. ...if the old link hadn't snapped, you would never have known that it could have become stronger than it was before. Now the chain is stronger and ready to take on whatever task life may have in store for it...

Disney Couples

I have decided that Simba and Nala are my favorite Disney couple of all time. I mean seriously, they've been friends since they were little, seperated, then reunited finding that they are truly the loves of eachother's lives... how much more perfect can you get?? :)

SKIRT:)

So last Friday when I went to my grandmother's house my mother and grandmother were making clothes for our goose. I will go ahead and explain that it is not a real goose, it is a concrete lawn goose that was given to us by our neighbors. Since of course you cannot have a naked goose in your yard, my mother makes clothes for it. But that is beside the point. The point is that they were going through a bunch of fabric remnants looking for something to make the goose a new dress out of. I pulled out a peice of material that I thought was pretty and showed it to my mom, "Wouldn't this make a pretty skirt?" I said (hint hint). My mother and grandmother both agreed with me and I ended up taking the fabric home to make me a skirt. Now bear in mind I do not sew. I have absaloutly nothing personal against sewing, I just never have been very good at it; so the fact that I took on the project is kinda a big deal. So Sunday afternoon I picked out a pattern at the store and borught it home to begin my project. My mother showed me how to cut it out and helped me decipher the instructions. But then we had a problem... our sewing machine was broken. How do you sew a skirt when your sewing machine is broken you ask? You borrow somebody elses, that is how. Luckily I knew someone who owned a sewing machine that they weren't using at the time and they graciously allowed me to use it. So I worked on my skirt Sunday night and Monday morning and voila! a skirt had formed! I am quite proud of my skirt and have been wearing it all day (it's quite comfortable). I have now been inspired to try making more of these skirts and if I am able to get good at these then I will try moving on to something a little harder. A dress maybe??
I'll put up a picture of my lovely creation in a short while:)

By the way, I would like to thank the person who let me borrow there sowing machine:) THANK YOU!:)

Poll

It may seem that I post a bunch of posts in a really short amount of time, and you are probably wondering: "Umm, why doesn't she just post all of this at once?". See, going back to the "random minded person" thing, I just randomly come up with stuff and go, "Hey! I'm gonna put that on my blog!" and so I do, and then like 45 min later I think of something else. So that is why I do not post all my stuff together.

I have been taking a poll for about a year and a half and would like whoever reads this to let me know what their opinion is. What tastes better, Dr Pepper or Sprite? I will not yet reveal my opinion on this... yet, but if y'all could comment and let me know how YOU feel on the situation it would make my day:) (I apologize to anyone who does not drink carbonated beverages. If you don't drink carbonated beverages, then just let me know what kind of drink you think is best:) )

FWOGGI!!!!!!!

My sister and I went to my grandmother's house today and spent most of the afternoon outside taking a bunch of pictures. In the process, we made a new friend. This is him:

We named him Fwoggi:) Ain't he cute;) (and by the way, even though it looks like it, there is not a snake in the picture, it is a piece of water hose.)

PICTURES!

I'm super excited! I figured out how to post pictures on here! (not that it was all that hard, i just never had tried before) ... hmmm.... now I got to find more pictures to post...;)

Ok, so it has been recently discovered that our dog (Sandy) does not like storms. Now here's the deal, he's almost 11 years old and has been an outdoor dog his entire life, up until this winter that was. It just got too cold outside for him to be out so he became and indoor dog. He's quite well behaved indoors to have been outside his entire life, that is until there is a storm. He completley FREAKS out! Panting, pacing, whining, running around the house.... and it just keeps going.... we've tried giving him a small dose of benadryl but it didn't really seem to help.... I really wish that he would take lessons from my dog. She doesn't really care about the storm as long as she's got a warm place to snuggle down. Her name is Heidi and is a dachshund/chihuahua mix, we call her a dachihuahua, chiwachshund, or a chiweenie. She is super prescious and loves attention (and sleep):)
This is a picture of the little darlings:)

I am SO blessed!

I have been blessed with the most amazing friends in the world. I am so thankful that God has given me people that I can turn to in times of trouble. He's given me a shoulder to cry on, and a person who will tell me like it is, and someone to lend a listening ear. I love y'all SO much!

'I Can't Sleep' by: Clay Walker

(Verse 1)
I've been up all night long
Just waiting on the sun
I've given up on the dawn
It aint never gonna come
Something's wrong
As long as you're gone

(Chorus)
I'm not gonna sleep till i touch your face
Baby not a wink, i could go for days
If you ever needed to see me down on my knees
Take a look at me
Baby i cant sleep

(Verse 2)
Remember when you said we wouldn't last
I couldn't swallow my pride ohhhh
It's sinking in
Baby losing you has finally opened my eyes
I'm wide awake
As long as it takes

(Chorus x3)

I'm not gonna sleep till i touch your face
Baby not a wink
I cant sleep

Proverbs 3:5-6

"Trust God from the bottom of your heart, don't try to figure everything out on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you do; everywhere you go He's the one that will keep you on track."

Life is too short to fear love. I would rather love you and lose you than never have loved you at all.

Psalms 46:1-3

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.” – Psalms 46:1-3

And if it all ends....

"And if it all ends I will know that the only dream that mattered came true; that in this life I was loved by you." ..... I don't know what I'm supposed to do now... all I know is that it hurts really really bad......

Dogs + Helium = ?

Ok, so I was just talking with my dad and we somehow got on the subject of inhaling helium. Have you ever thought of how it would sound if a dog inhaled helium? How would it sound when it barked? I personally think it would resemble an oompa-loompa's voice; you know the little orange men from Willy Wonka? On a deeper note, how would it sound if an oompa-loompa inhaled helium? Wow.... Did you know that the reason your voice is higher when you inhale helium is because it's lighter than air and it flows over your vocal cords faster; causing you voice to have a higher pitch? Atleast that is what I was told. If any of you ever happen to try giving a dog helium please let me know what it sounds like when it barks:) Ok.... I just got really dissapointed because I youtubed "Oompla Loompa Voice" and it wasn't high.... some of them actually had really low voices. So I guess my thinking that they had high pitched voices was just my imagination. I actually have a video of me speaking in a really high voice (which we call my "oompa loompa voice" for some reason) now that I think about it. It's real to, no pitch change or anything:) I will do my best to see if I can post the audio for your personal enjoyment:) (because I know how much you all want to hear that).

New To the Game/Coffee and Skittles

I will be honest, I have never had a blog before. And to be honest, I'd never really thought about having one until one of my friends started one. So I was greatly inspired and decided to start one of my own. (By "greatly inspired" I mean that I thought it would be cool and decided that I would give it a shot.) So here it goes:).....

This is going to sound odd, but I actualy really don't like writing that much.... I'm not good at English and Grammar whatsoever (you've been warned).... but I do in fact like sharing my random thoughts. This is something that I am quite good at and am well know for. They are refered to as "squirrel moments", though I'm not really sure why.... Are squirrels known for being random? Hmm...... I will have to look into this... (that's what google is for). One of my teachers is also known for squirrel moments, which is really funny when you are having a deep, complicated theory explained to you and they suddenly come out with a really random fact. But it does keep things interesting. But anywho....
Just wondering, but does anybody else here have abnormally strong reactions to *ahem* coffee?? I made the fatal mistake of trying coffee for the first time a couple of weeks ago.I have eaten coffee flavored icecream before and am particulalry fond of it, but I hadn't ever tried REAL coffee. The worst part was that I drank it right before the service at church.... Do not get me wrong, I love the services at my church (I love the worship imparticular), but this one was unbearable. I felt like I had ants crawling under my skin and that my eyes were about to bug out of my head. I couldn't sit still and was uncomfortable whether I was standing up or sitting down. Caffine and I do not get along very well... for crying outloud I get hyper off of skittles! (this actually only happened once, but still...) So I have decided that I am going to avoid coffee as long as possible... and if I do need a little energy boost I always have skittles ;)

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
