I see it in your eyes
And I feel it in your touch
I want to know just what it is that makes you hurt so much

Every time I see you
I also see the pain
And in your eyes each day is neither loss nor gain

I want to make things better
I want to make things right
I want to know at the end of the tunnel you finally see some light

You've given up on trying
You say that you don't care
And you simply do not realize that you've caused my heart to tear

Remembering how it was
And now seeing where you are
I cannot help but wonder how it is things got this far

It's killing me to see you
Walking down this lonley road
But at this point you really don't seem to care which way you go

I want to see your smile
I want to hear your laugh
But more than anything I wish I could pull you off this dreary path

But I'm finally starting to realize
There's nothing I can do
That happiness is something you yourself will have to choose

An always listening ear
